KITCHEN, LAUNDRY, POWDER ROOM, UPPER HALL AND MASTER BATHROOMS REMODEL

N51W16782 Fair Oak Parkway
Menomonee Falls, WI

ALLEN KITCHEN AND BATH

This year we are excited to share a whole house remodel of a 1991 Colonial home, which includes a Kitchen, Powder room, Laundry room, Garage entry space and foyer with skylight on the first floor and the remodeling of the Upper Hall, Hall Bath, and Master Suite on the second floor.

Our main goal for the Kitchen was to create an inviting and spacious floor plan because the homeowners love to host large family gatherings throughout the year. The original kitchen was laid out in the typical fashion for the time;  sporting a soffited U-shape design with a built-in desk, adjacent breakfast nook, and an unfortunately inconvenient access to the outdoor deck (complete with hot tub and outdoor TV!).

Creative redesigning now provides the kitchen with easy and convenient access to the deck and hot tub and a new large island seating six. Re-purposing the desk space allowed for the addition of a beverage center as well as a message center.

As we move upstairs we find ourselves focusing on the Master suite which needs adjusting due to the homeowners working different shifts. We accommodated this need with the addition of a pocket door allowing for a smoother transition in the mornings and evenings, allowing one person to utilize the bathroom while the other is sleeping.

We redesigned the upper hall to provide a larger linen closet for the upper bedrooms and hall bath. New finishes for vanities, counter tops, sinks, faucets, and flooring completed the second floor renovations. This old 1991 house is fabulously new again!

WHOLE HOUSE REMODEL

WINTERS PARTNERSHIP, LLC

This whole house remodel integrated modern architecture, open concept entertaining area, views to the wooded ravine, Master bedroom Suite with Laundry tucked behind, Guest Bedroom, Home Office for clients and Workshop.

The open floor plan made a relatively small house feel larger than it really is.

The house is a stunning integration of home materials, modern architecture and sophisticated landscape design to create one whole integrated environment from lot line to lot line.

This small, modern remodel combines Nature’s elements of stone and wood, with steel, metal and glass to blend with a basswood forest. Dark siding and black framed casement windows flank and entry of Lannon stone, stained wood siding and oversized glass front door. A two-story space indoors opens to a wall of glass overlooking paved terraces that extend the house’s reach toward the forest beyond. Interior finishes are neutral, allowing Nature to provide color accents.

LOWER LEVEL REMODEL

3214 Walleye Drive
Oconomowoc, WI

HIGHPOINT DESIGN BUILD GROUP

A ranch doesn't always allow for private space. The client wanted teenagers and adults to have a place to escape. This was a top priority. The goal was to create a truly unique destination.

The result was a common area with multiple screens, a theater room, as well as a fun area for games or perhaps even a wine tasting event for adults. This new space allows small groups to have their own space yet interact with each other when desired. The use of steel, reclaimed burned wood, and solid pine trees from northern Wisconsin is sensational.

RESIDENTIAL ADDITION

RENOVATIONS GROUP, INC.

Nestled into a private 5-acre parcel of pine trees in Sussex, WI, the homeowners had created a private retreat for their young, active family by adding a large in-ground pool with a dedicated outbuilding which houses an indoor basketball court. While the outdoor pool and basketball court are heavily used, it became obvious to the owners that additional amenities would only make entertaining and daily use of the outdoor spaces even better.

They had decided adding a three-season screen porch, dedicated bathroom, wet bar, added onto the existing outbuilding would fulfill their ultimate entertaining goals. The family desired an indoor/outdoor entertainment area including a wet bar, media area, bathroom, a gas fireplace, and seating space for guests.

KITCHEN AND LAUNDRY ROOM

CALLEN CONSTRUCTION, INC.

This 1980's kitchen and laundry area were begging for a better use of space and source of brightness throughout. The existing kitchen was designed to feel closed off from the dining area, leaving both areas crammed. Only to exit the kitchen through the short hallway, which had a poor layout of closet doors and laundry space.

The remodeling plan entailed removing soffits and headers in the kitchen and laundry room to bring the eye up and allow for more usable cabinetry space. Two smaller hall closets were merged and reconfigured. This redesign allowed for a larger entry area from the garage, as well as an expanded walk-in pantry.

With having limited possibilities without structural changes, it was important to design with the goal of optimal utilization. Now the kitchen has contrasting cabinetry colors featured on the uppers to brighten the space; and warm cabinetry on the lowers and refrigerator wall to create a blended feel with their existing oak trim. The laundry and pantry doors switched to pocket doors to provide a better flow when moving between and in the spaces. Finally, the flooring choice of a LVP brings beauty and durability, as this color choice helps bring all the colors together, from cabinets to trim to doors to hardware. The homeowners enjoy spending time in their kitchen space now by having the ability to spread things out without even changing the footprint.

SUNROOM AND LOWER LEVEL

1812 N. 74th Street
Wauwatosa, WI

CARMEL BUILDERS, INC.

The lower level was completed by Carmel Builders in 2018, and the sunroom was completed by Carmel Builders in 2022. This family has been remodeling different spaces of their 1934 Georgian Colonial home since they purchased it in the 2010's to have it flow perfectly for their family of 4.

The lower level was a dark, outdated space and was not welcoming. Now, it serves as the play area for their children, complete with a swing, chalk board, and space for all their toys.

There is also a designed laundry room with a folding station and ample storage for cleaning supplies. The sunroom was an addition that was built before they bought their home. It felt closed off due to doors and walls and didn't have forced air so it was used as a three-season rather than four-season room.

We opened up the space to allow a line of sight into the family room and kitchen. The space now feels like it belongs in their home, and the sunroom is now another place for this family to enjoy and create memories year round.

ADDITION AND REMODEL

2370 N. 100th Street
Wauwatosa, WI

DIMENSION DESIGN, BUILD, REMODEL, INC.

Our customers needed a larger and more modern kitchen and dining area to better serve their growing family. Along the way, it became apparent a more modern first floor laundry facility would also be important to enhance family functionality. The existing house contained a large outdoor patio area that the clients rarely used so it created an opportunity to reallocate space that was under-utilized.

Our design/build team added square footage to the home’s footprint where the existing outdoor patio area was located. Also central to the customers goals was an open concept kitchen, large central island for informal eating/gathering, separate dry bar, and a dining area that could also be a space to entertain larger family and friend gatherings. This space was to also capture the views of the wooded river landscape. Matching the existing architecture style was also important.

Our team accomplished our customers goals by adding a large 480 square foot addition that was to become the new dining area and laundry room facility. The kitchen’s existing footprint and dining area was completely gutted and became the new open concept kitchen with a large central island and dry bar. The new spaces were tastefully blended to the existing architecture with high end finishes to include custom cabinets, heated tile flooring, quartz countertops, and tile backsplashes. The large windows and placement of the dining room addition allowed us to capture the great views offered by the lot and enhance the connection to the outdoors from inside the house.

WHOLE HOME REMODEL

947 Currie Place
Wauwatosa, WI

ADVANTAGE DESIGN + REMODEL

Discover this stunning, remodeled Wauwatosa home, designed for a family of four who love their community, cooking, and hosting. Built-in 1938, the initial floor plan featured a typical 'Tosa' kitchen with limited counter space that “lacked basic cooking necessities”. The layout also included a screened-in porch, family room, dining room, living room, and landing area - with numerous doors interrupting the natural flow of the space.

After a successful previous basement remodel, the homeowners entrusted our team once again to transform their first and second floors. This intensive remodel involved removing structural walls between the porch, family room, and kitchen, creating an open, inviting space perfect for daily life and entertaining. The kitchen now boasts the ideal layout for home-cooked meals and togetherness, leaving the old 'Tosa' vibe in the past.

On the second floor, the underused section of the hallway was reimagined to form a master suite with a walk in closet and ensuite bathroom. This provided the homeowners with the privacy and functionality they desired. Additionally, a full remodel of the second-floor children's bathroom enhanced the overall family living experience.

Step into this charming remodeled Wauwatosa home – a delightful sanctuary for a family who treasures togetherness, home-cooked meals, and creating unforgettable memories with loved ones.
